Last Thursday, Josh Allen was awarded the MVP. Allen edged out last year`s winner Lamar Jackson for the award. It was one of the closest races of all time. Allen received 27 first place votes, while Jackson got 23. All together, Allen beat out Jackson 383 to 362. The others that placed were Saquon Barkley, Joe Burrow and Jared Goff. Josh Allen won his first MVP as he had been in the running three other times in 2020, 2022 and 2023. Allen and the Bills fell once again in the playoffs. They lost to the Chiefs for the fourth time since 2020. This season the Bills finished 13-4, captured the AFC East crown and beat the Broncos and the Ravens to reach the AFC Championship game. Allen had 26 passing TD`s, 12 rushing TD`s 6 INT`s, 3,371 passing yards, 531 rushing yards and a passer rating of 101.4

However, Allen should have not win because Jackson was much better! And when I mean better, he was hands down better! Jackson had better stats in every category except for rushing TD`s, which was because the Bills had a lot of QB sneaks. Jackson stats looked like this. 41 passing TD`s, 4 rushing TD`s, just 4 INT`s, 4,172 passing yards, 915 rushing yards, a league leading passer rating and QBR 119.6 and 77.3. Just look at these numbers! It`s obvious Jackson had the better season. The Louisville product also beat Allen head to head in week 4, by blowing him out 35-10. On top of that, Jackson was first team All-Pro and Allen was second team. Its crazy to say Jackson was the best QB, but did not win MVP, especially since Allen won and was second team All-Pro.
Lamar Jackson had a season for the ages but did not win the MVP. Sure, he lost to Allen in the playoffs, but the MVP is a regular season award, not a postseason achievement. This year just proved to be a pity award for Allen. Since he had not won a major award like the others QB`s. Mahomes has 3 Super Bowls, 2 MVP`s, Jackson also has 2 MVP`s, Burrow has made it to the Super Bowl and now even Jalen Hurts has a ring and SB MVP, so they had to give Allan something. Basically the award this year was a felling sorry for Josh Allen. Allen is the DEI MVP or the Joel Embiid of the NFL!

Now we get to the voters of this atrocity mess. The voters for the award were released and there were many who are respected in the sport that voted Jackson such as the Goat Tom Brady. However, the voters who did not vote for Jackson and instead voted for Josh Allen were Jim Miller and Dan Orlovsky. If you are not sure who Jim Miller is, do not fell alone. Not many fans knew who Jim Millers was until last week. Jim Miller is a former NFL QB, who played for the Steelers. Miller for some reason gave Jackson a fourth place vote. Yes, that is correct a fourth place finish. For some reason, Miller still gets a vote. To make things even worse for him, he did not vote for Jackson last year either. Dan Orlovsky also did not vote for Jackson. He voted for Allen and gave us his reason. To warn you, it`s not very good.
"I voted for Lamar, First Team All Pro," Orlovsky said on ESPN`s First Take. "Josh had a 40-touchdown, eight-turnover, 14-sack season. The Bills didn't have an elite defense. The Bills had a very good run game, not a great run game. They didn't have elite perimeter players in any regard. "The way Josh played this season and the different style that he played brought tremendous value to the football team. Lamar's season was absolutely sensational. He was probably the best player in football this year, but value, and how much you impact your team, who you do it with and who you do it against, that's where I thought Josh Allen had the upper hand."
That makes a lot of sense doesn`t it? Orlovsky can keep trying to defending himself, but we know he did not want to vote for Jackson again. It also did not make much sense that he voted Jackson first team All-Pro, but he did not vote Jackson for MVP. And these guys get paid millions on ESPN to say these things. To sum Dan Orlovsky up, it was a very out of bounds things for him to say and do.

Jim Miller as seen in the picture gave Jackson as a fourth place MVP vote.
It would have been fine if Saquon Barkley won the MVP. He lead the league in rushing and was a major reason why the Eagles won the Super Bowl. He won OPOY and became just the ninth player in NFL history to rush for over 2,000 yards. However, the NFL does not make any sense and the voting is just a complete joke!
Let me know on my socials such as IG and Tiktok what you think.
