Before the Super Bowl, one team still needed a head coach. The Saints were the last team in the League to still be looking for a head coach. It was reported on Tuesday, the Saints hired recently Super Bowl winning Eagles OC, Kellan Moore as their new head coach! Moore will replace Dennis Allen. Allen was fired on November 5th after a 5-12 season. The Saints lost to the Panthers and the very next day, New Orleans fired Allen. During the rest of the season, the Saints named Special Teams coach Darren Rizzi as the interim coach for the rest of the season. The Saints interviewed four candidates for the head coaching position in person that included Eagles OC Kellan Moore, Giants OC Mike Kafka, Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver and Darren Rizzi. Before the Super Bowl the Saints had Kellan Moore fly in New Orleans one week early, so that they could interview him in person. Moore's Time In The NFL So Far

Moore has been with the Cowboys, Chargers and Eagles
Kellen Moore has been an OC in the NFL since 2018 with the Cowboys, Chargers and Eagles. After playing in the NFL from 2011 until 2017, he immediately went into coaching. Moore became the Cowboys` QB Coach in 2018. In 2019, he was promoted to offensive coordinator and was there until 2022. After the Cowboys. He became the OC for the Chargers for one season. Eagles Offense in 2024

The Eagles won the Super Bowl over the Chiefs, thanks to their well rounded team. Even though the defense was the main reason why they upset the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, the offense was also a huge part. Jalen Hurts, who was named SB MVP, took huge strides in 2024. After a breakout season in 2022 in which Hurts finished second for MVP behind Patrick Mahomes, he struggled mightily in 2023. They did have a new OC in 2023 after Shane Stichen left to take the Colts head coaching position. But after the 2023 season, the offense took a major step back in which Brian Johnson was fired. In 2024, Kellan Moore was named the OC and immediately made the offense better. During the Eagles Super Bowl celebration, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was asking Moore to return one more year as the OC for the Eagles. "Let's run this s--- back, Kellen," as he said Laughing and celebrating the victory.
Kellan Moore Has A Lot Of Work Ahead Of Him

The Saints finished the season 5-12 and there a lot of questions on every position
With the Saints hiring Kellan Moore, his next priority will be to hire new coordinators. Former Chargers head coach, Brandon Staley is expected to take the Defensive Coordinator job. The Offensive Coordinator job is likely going to still be Moore even though he could hire someone or just call the shots on offense. For the last few years, Moore has been in the conversation for a head coach in the NFL even though it was a bit dry in 2023, when the Chargers missed the playoffs and Staley was fired. His next priority will be to fix the defense. The Saints defense was one of the worst units last season. New Orleans allowed 379.9 yards, which was the third worst in the NFL. The Saints have not made the playoffs since 2020. After the 2021 season, Saints longtime head coach Sean Payton left the franchise. They replaced him with assistant and DC Dennis Allan. Allan was the head coach for the Saints from 2021-2024 and failed to make the playoffs during his tenure as head coach in Nola. Since 2022, the Saints have gone 21-30.
NFL Teams
With the Saints hiring Kellan Moore, every NFL team has a head coach. The teams that hired a new head coach this offseason were the Jets, Bears, Patriots, Cowboys, Raiders, Jaguars and of course the Saints.
